Create your first article

This guide takes you step by step through creating an SEO-optimized article with Enodo Semantic.

Step 1: Create the article

  1. From the homepage, click on Create an Article.
  2. Enter the name of your article in the dialog box.
  3. Click on Create. The editor opens with a blank article.

Step 2: Set up the Editorial Brief

Before writing, set up your SEO goals:

  1. Open the editorial brief from the sidebar.
  2. Enter your main keyword: this is the term you want to rank for.
  3. Add secondary keywords to enrich your semantic field.
  4. Set your quantitative goals: number of words, paragraphs, titles, internal links, external links, and images.
  5. Add questions that your article should answer.
  6. Select the language of your content.

Step 3: Write the SEO title and description

  1. Click on the Title (headline) field at the top of the editor.
  2. Write a title between 30 and 70 characters containing your keyword, ideally at the start of the title.
  3. Press Enter to move to the description (meta description).
  4. Write a description between 50 and 160 characters including your keyword.

The colored indicators next to each field guide you:

  • Green: optimal
  • Orange: needs improvement
  • Red: critical problem

Step 4: Add content blocks

  1. Click the + green button that appears between the blocks (or under the last block).
  2. Choose a block type from the grid that appears (paragraph, title, image, list, etc.).
  3. The block is inserted and ready to be edited.

SEO writing best practices

  • Structure with h2 to h6 titles containing your keywords.
  • Aim for paragraphs of 50 to 280 words for optimal reading comfort.
  • Integrate your keywords naturally in the first paragraphs.
  • Add relevant internal and external links.
  • Illustrate with images accompanied by descriptions (alternative text).
  • Use lists to structure the information.
  • Answer the questions identified in your brief using FAQ blocks.

Step 5: Track your SEO score

The SEO score (gauge from 0 to 100) updates in real time in the sidebar:

  • 67–100 (green): your article is well optimized.
  • 34–66 (orange): improvements are recommended.
  • 0–33 (red): critical issues need to be addressed.

Check the reviews beneath the gauge to precisely identify areas for improvement.

Step 6: Preview

Click on Preview to see the final rendering of your article as it will appear once published.

Step 7: Publish

When your article is ready:

  1. Click on Publish.
  2. Select the property (website) to publish on.
  3. Complete the publication metadata (category, authors, date, etc.).
  4. Confirm the publication.
