Statuses and workflow
Each post in Butterfly follows a lifecycle defined by statuses. This editorial workflow allows your team to collaborate efficiently, from writing to publication.
Available statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | The post is being drafted |
| To approve | The post has been submitted for validation |
| Approved | The post has been approved by an editor or administrator |
| Planned | The post is scheduled for future publication |
| Published | The post is online and accessible to the public |
| Trash | The post is deleted (recoverable) |
Typical lifecycle

- Once finished, they move it to To approve
- An editor or administrator validates it (Approved)
- The validated post can be Planned for a future date or directly published (Published)

Note: The workflow is flexible. Depending on your organization, you can adapt the transitions between statuses.
